Online services and apps are the start point for around a third of all new relationships in the UK and around the world. These services are a valuable part of our social fabric; and that does mean service providers have to constantly review how they can make them more relevant and as fun and as safe as possible.
The Online Dating Association (ODA) is focused on setting and sharing standards that ensure good practice is as universal as possible and that trust in services is also as high as possible. We are broadening this approach engaging providers based across Europe, in the US and even further afield. This “Dating United” approach to standards and public trust and to engaging with lawmakers and regulators is hugely important as Governments start to some to terms with social media, retail, dating and a host of other online services and their commonalities but also their fundamental differences. One size and one model does not “fit all” when it comes to online services!
