Dating sector gets behind vaccination campaign

The Online Dating Association (ODA) was pleased to take and act on a request from the British Government to share the advertising and promotional material in their campaign to promote take up of the Covid-19 vaccines.

The campaign material has been shared with all ODA members with them deciding how best to share messages on apps, sites and social media feeds.

ODA Chief Executive George Kidd said, “Everyone wants to get back to some kind of “normality” and vaccination is undoubtedly a key part of that effort. The clear view across our membership was that it was right for services to make space available for this campaign promoting vaccine take up.

“There are still restrictions in place in terms of when and how people can meet for a date or any other reason. Work may be happening in many markets on ways in which those who have been vaccinated can demonstrate this digitally and, perhaps, for this to be a way of allowing further controls to be lifted. But the British Government has made clear its absolute priority is to achieve high levels of vaccination. We are pleased to play our part by helping put this message in front of the millions of people using dating apps and services.”
